"Totus Floreo!"
» Appearance
Raoulin is a man who is also aging with visible cheekbones and wrinkles around his eyes. Despite his age, his facial structure still remains handsome, which attracts every man and woman. His hair is large and almost mane-like with an off-grey color, something akin to the Greek God Zeus. As Legislator of Paris and a nobleman, Raoulin wears colorful robes which ranges from blue, teal, orange, yellow, brown, to red. He also wears a gold necklace along with a blue and teal chaperon that has a black feather. When in service as a General, Raoulin wears platinum armor with brown gloves. Raoulin's undergarments are mainly white. In the nude, Raoulin is extremely well-built with muscle and bears a scar across his chest that came from his battle in Argos. He is circumcised.Personality
Like Frollo, Raoulin is a complex individual. He ensures that laws will go through an approval process, but he is often clueless and lacks critical thinking skills. Raoulin has a tendency to be very clingy towards almost everyone, except for Frollo. Some might say that Raoulin has the mind of dog. You teach him a new trick for him to try out, and he'll follow you around. Nicknamed "The Bibulous", Raoulin is also an alcoholic and would occasionally get drunk on Merlot. He is also promiscuous, as he likes to hang out in the nude in his bedchamber, write erotica, and engage in hookups, orgies, and other sexual encounters.Story
Raoulin De Caux was born under nobility on February 17th, and his father was a lawmaker for the city of Paris. Like his father, and his grandfather, Raoulin was kept to hold a promise to continue a bloodline of lawmakers, so the city's Minister of Justice can approve the laws for the people, even if the Minister holds strict authoritarian values. He lived a life of privelige, and he developed a prejudice towards the poor and marginalized (as in the Roma). Raoulin's parents were also neglectful, which made him very clingy later on in his life. He also had beliefs in political intervention of the church, just like Frollo's in a way. As Raoulin got older living his priveliged life, he majored in Law, Latin, Greek, and Italian at the University of Paris. However, Raoulin lived under a rule in which Paris' Minister of Justice had a compassionate policy for people who like to celebrate various festivals, carnivals, and performers. Raoulin enjoyed them as a boy and a young man during his first few years as a lawmaker, but as the old Minister of Justice grew weaker and lie dying, he would eventually stop participating in the festivities. Raoulin had to give aid to King Louis the Prudent on who will be elected the next Minister of Justice.Just as the King elected Claude Frollo as the next Minister of Justice, who would then abolish the various festivals and carnivals but leave out necessary holidays like the Feast of Fools and Christmas, and prostitution, Raoulin was soon to join the French Army that was fighting with the Venetians against the Ottomans as a general. At the army camps, in between battles that Raoulin had to fight in, he would then discover his sexual attraction towards men along with women. Raoulin often found the muscular men training and bathing with him attractive, but was a bit shy at first when making any advantages to sleep with them. He would soon get better at being assertive, both in his sex life and in battle. As his time serving in the war went on, he would soon develop the same huge muscles (although the bodybuilding was painful) his comrades have. Raoulin would soon resign from his service in the Army exactly one year later after his captain Marceau became mentally unfit and called back to work more on laws for the city of Paris.
The necessary holidays such as Christmas and the Feast of Fools are some of the few occasions that the average commoner would celebrate. However, with Raoulin working with Claude Frollo as acquaintances, he asked the Minister to adjust the law that was established soon after that election: Only the rich and noble can participate in various celebrations while the commoner only celebrates the necessary holidays. Frollo agreed, thinking it would be another necessary evil like prostitution. Raoulin soon started to self-indulge in alcohol through these celebrations, almost always in a jovial mood. Raoulin's assertion towards men and women worked well with his preferable drinks of Burgundy and Merlot, and him under the influence gave them a charming vibe. Thus, Raoulin would be nicknamed "The Bibulous" to describe his charming and ambitious personality, as well as his drunkeness. However, Raoulin's charisma is also used to manipulate the poor into paying higher taxes for him and the rest of the nobles and the King's court, and do his bidding through indentured servitude with little pay.
Because of Raoulin's charisma, Frollo would eventually start to have sexual feelings for him one night as he stumbled upon Raoulin with a prostitute at the brothel on the way back to the Palace of Justice. Raoulin, right now a long-term acquaintance working with Frollo, soon noticed Frollo appearing more seductive towards him. Funny enough one afternoon, Frollo then attended mass at the same time as Raoulin. Raoulin came out to Frollo soon after mass ended, declaring that he likes him.
Raoulin's relationship with Frollo happens to be very kinky, to say the least. This is because Frollo had sexual repression for years, and with the help of Raoulin's sexual experiences from his time serving in the war, Frollo has became a little more open with his bisexuality. However, during public events in the daytime, Frollo and Raoulin would be alongside each other as they would show some affection towards each other. They even dine together at the nearby tavern, and if the night is bright and warm, they would walk in the King's garden.
However, Raoulin would soon learn that he has a child: A bastard son named Beau, who was abandoned by Jaqueline, a prostitute whom Raoulin frequently had sex with and was impregnated by him during a threeway with her and Frollo, and raised by a shepherd. He vowed to himself that he will be a better father than his father before, and he and Beau would reach out to Jaqueline to help rekindle the De Caux bloodline.
Jaqueline refused at first, but she eventually agreed. Raoulin would soon get Beau as the legal heir to the De Caux family, marry Jaqueline in a lavender wedding and offer wealth for her to thrive, and keep Frollo as a lover without King Louis the Prudent and the Church bothering the two. How would Frollo and Raoulin do this? Frollo and Raoulin engaged in a ritual called Adelphopoiesis, which is when two men unite in fraternity recognized by the Church, at the same day of the wedding between him and Jaqueline. That night, Raoulin would consummate his marriage and adelphopoiesis with Jaqueline and Frollo respectively, with Jaqueline leading the way and praising him.
Soon, one Feast of Fools would change absolutely everything. Frollo would return to the Palace of Justice, feeling much more than his usual upsot. Raoulin correctly suspected that Frollo was having feelings for an attractive Roma woman named Esmeralda. Assuming that she would be easy bait, Raoulin encouraged Frollo by assuring that the feelings are normal, as well as having him engage in a hypnosis kink in which Frollo was in the middle of a threeway between her and Raoulin. Later, as arson was committed all over Paris, Raoulin would justify the acts as a necessary way to emphasize the search for Esmeralda. When Frollo found Esmeralda in the Court of Miracles, Raoulin was notified that a bonfire will be held unless Esmeralda agrees to be Frollo's mistress. He would consider it a "win or win" scenario, as he also deemed Esmeralda unworthy like the Turks he had slain in the War. Of course, the execution by the stake was immediately halted by Quasimodo, and Frollo would almost seize Notre Dame. It would result in Frollo's perilous death by plunging into hot lead that was previously poured by the bellringer. The sight of seeing his lover fall and die a horrible death would scar Raoulin greatly, and Raoulin fell into a deep depression full of rage against Quasimodo, bargaining for Frollo, and control over everyone else.
Instead of a loving father to his son, Raoulin would be outright emotionally abusive and authoritarian. Raoulin often threatened Beau that he'll beat him if he didn't do anything he was told. To his wife Jaqueline, Raoulin saw her as the "last relic" of the happy days when Raoulin was a lover to Frollo. However, when Jaqueline would question why Raoulin would be upset and try to have him consider why Quasimodo would allegedy kill Frollo, Raoulin would tell her to shut up as well as throw the occasional insult. For Gabriel, Raoulin would then know about their ability to speak to the dead, and have them summon Frollo's ghost so he can see him for a while. This would take an emotional toll on Gabriel, and Raoulin considered fighting Quasimodo to the death. Thus, Raoulin felt an unnatural joy as he got dressed in his platinum armor for the very last time, causing Gabriel and Jaqueline be a lot more concerned about the Legislator's suicide mission. Even Quasimodo was worried about Raoulin's mental health while he stormed into the cathedral. Soon enough, all of the stress and pain Raoulin had to carry for the past years would make him have a severe heart attack. His soul would reside in Hell and occasionally visit Gabriel with Francis and Clopin on Earth.
